Things For 1 Month Old Baby

Things For 1 Month Old Baby – I admit, I used to roll my eyes when people told me “time flies with a baby” and “they grow up so fast”. Now, I disagree, I can’t believe we have a month old (and this is the second time I’ve sat down to write this post, he’s 5 weeks old) so today I’m sharing one. monthly updates for life with baby Ben. I’m going to get really personal, so don’t worry if you’re interested in recipes, I’ve got you covered: I have over 750 recipes to browse in my recipe index!

Many of you gave great feedback after the last baby update and asked when more updates would be coming! It’s so touching and I mean so much to hear that you guys like to read about what life is really like behind the scenes – it’s definitely not stylized pretty food (these days I’m an expert in eating/handling Ben with one arm and holding the bottle under my chin and then quickly eating with my other hand caught something!)

Our newborn photos above were taken by Jill Veliser, thanks Jill! Please bear with me for the rest of the photos in this post, crazy busy life going on lol.

Year Old Baby Milestones

My two sisters made me the adorable blanket you see above for the monthly baby pictures—they should start an Etsy shop, don’t they?

Please preface everything I’m going to say: every child is different, every parent is different, everything you do as a parent is amazing, you are an amazing person and what works for you – AWESOME!!! More than ever, I’m not too judgmental when it comes to parenting, you do what’s right for you and I support you!

Having a baby was something we really wanted and it didn’t happen overnight. It took several years (read more about that here). We took all the baby classes and thought we were ready. The baby classes are really pointless. Classes should be taught by parents of newborns, not someone who already has children and is far from it. They need to be taught by a sleep-deprived person who can tell what they really are!

Because honestly, life with a newborn, in the first month, isn’t all glam and glam or as romantic as you’ve heard! When you ask what is this peaceful and loving and bonding time…I want to know…who are the people who experienced that?! I went to lunch with Nick and one of his colleagues (to show off Baby Ben), and we were talking about this exact thing- how do you ask for this special time and to be honest, it’s really hard! It’s really hard and tiring and you are tired, and drained, and tired!!! During that lunch, I was laughing so hard that what a newborn really is, I realized later that afternoon that I had red marks on my cheek where my glasses had hit my cheek from laughing so hard. As in the picture above, he cried and screamed all day and I had to wear him at home because my arm was so sore from holding him all day (this Solly baby wrap is so nice and soft and the one I use in the picture) .

Can Your 9 12 Month Old Baby Do This?

Time morphs and sometimes you wonder “what did we do”?!? I love Ben so much and I’m just kidding about being his mom. But it’s 3am, you haven’t slept and you’re wondering- I didn’t feed / change / wet him… where in the world is he fussing and crying?! There are unexpected tears. I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it again, but man-o-man, my husband is an amazing man and I don’t know how I could have done it without him. He is a supportive partner and a wonderful father. Seeing them together is the sweetest thing ever and really cheers me up during hard times.

Also, speaking of support, I was really surprised by what I thought was a lack of support, and on the other hand an outpouring of love and support from unexpected people. Everyone has a busy life, but “How are you?” I can’t tell you how good it is. How’s Ben?” texts. My family (I have three sisters, and a mom/dad) live all over the place and we have this daily group text and it’s so nice and a life saver. He always knows what to say and when. Sometimes just saying what’s going on and Telling them helps and their advice – especially from my mom who has been through us 4 times is really good to hear! I know my bestie Lynn will be there me, but I didn’t know she was there – this girl lets me talk and talk and it’s not weird, and she’s coming to visit in 2 weeks and I can’t wait for her to meet Ben! And let’s not forget about my sister-in-law, who lives a mile away (we can literally go to her house, and I plan on taking Ben in the stroller soon), and you hear me talking about her all over time. Ask, that’s Shout out to them for be ing so special (just one example: when I was about to give birth, my mother-in-law came and made us a crib while Nick ran errands, it was very special and I will never forget it. , and I love it when he stops. Even my poor sister-in-law threw up a big moment of vomiting while we were trying to figure out the formulas.)

Babies are so precious. They really need to do a better job explaining it somewhere lol, because I don’t think I really know. It might have something to do with the fact that we literally moved a month before Ben was born and we didn’t have room in our old house, so I haven’t bought any baby/nursery stuff, basically anything. We waited until we moved and hadn’t bought anything even then (I went to the store once before my sister-in-law gave birth, and luckily got a few essentials), so when we did she came home from the hospital, like starting from square one, and omg do things add up!

Things For 1 Month Old Baby

As I mentioned in a previous post, “feeding is better” when it comes to babies. We took a breastfeeding class, but what they didn’t mention was that breastfeeding isn’t an option for everyone. Like me, unfortunately, I didn’t produce any milk, so what? I tried and tried and nothing, pumping is really difficult, and breastfeeding is difficult, then you talk to the lactation consultant but still nothing…so what happens when you have to give your baby formula? How does one prepare it? How long is it good for? What are the differences in brands/bottles/etc? That really has to be explained somewhere, right? Our pediatrician (the amazing Dr. Mark Kamsler – if you’re in the Milwaukee area and looking, I can’t recommend him enough) and I don’t know what we’d do without him. We are dealing with / trying to calculate various formulas. One made her loose, the other made her vomit like crazy (like projectile-exorcist style, and my sister-in-law was the poor victim of a vomiting session-Ben puked on her-her hair, her shirt , anywhere), one gave him terrible gas…we are working.I hope so. It’s hard to see your baby uncomfortable!

Why Is My Baby Crying For No Reason & What Should I Do

We also looked at four different types of bottles (some very fast flowing, others very slow), and the one that works best for us right now is the Tommy Tippe brand, which has a nipple of breast-shaped bottle. It’s the little things, right? Side note – I never thought I would try different bottles and find out what kind of ‘flow’ and ‘nipple’ my baby likes best.

Even though it’s only 5 weeks, I can tell it’s better than when we got home from the hospital and I can’t wait for it to get better because I love this new little life so much. person

One of the things I researched and liked was the car seat and stroller combo I mentioned. I tell you – the best money
