Birthday Theme For Girl 4 Years Old

Birthday Theme For Girl 4 Years Old – Our sweet June talked about the “mermaid birthday party” in the second half of last year she went to for her fourth birthday. She told everyone she could and never hesitated to pursue any other subject. One time she asked me to add “confetti, gems and dance” to the theme list, but I mainly stick with mermaids and she was scared.

If you know me at all, you know that I love a good themed party. But! I also believe in being simple and don’t stress yourself out at a silly kid’s birthday party. Which is why I’m pretty proud of myself for the mermaid party if I do say so myself. I thought it was the right balance of decor and theming ideas, but at no point did I think to myself “Why did I do all this?” or “Why did I spend so much money on a birthday party?”

I found some free mermaid coloring pages on Pinterest and printed them out for the girls to color, and then added a small ring pop, a jar of crayons, and pipe cleaner “mermaid crowns” to each of their stations.

Fairy & Garden Themed Birthday Party

Instead of coming up with all the places and all the ways to decorate for the party, choose 2-3 places that you will see during the party and stick with it. Do them well and let that be enough. I promise you it will happen!

For June’s mermaid party (and the most special event in our house), I decorated the door “arch” that connects our living and dining rooms. This is a handy place to hang balloons and garlands. You see it right when you come in the door and feel the celebration in our entirety!

The second thing I chose to decorate was the white lampshade that hung above the dining room table. I hung tissue paper from it to make it look like a giant jellyfish! Super easy and cheap.

In the end, I decided to decorate/add my attention to the girl’s dinner plate. Instead of spending more money on extra decorations or a bigger lunch, I chose to fill their plates with simple foods that kids love and make a little undersea view of the ocean. It’s really really easy and if you want to make a mermaid theme, you can do that too!

What I love about the tip of decorating just 2-3 places is that it is predictable. And in the best way! I mean, don’t you remember the places that were “always festive” in your childhood home? The mantel, or the front door, or the chair you sat in at your birthday dinner? Create a little tradition in your home by choosing these 2-3 places and make them festive for your kids’ parties!

I adore the pictures of him blowing out his candle!! This made me realize that we shouldn’t have real candles on her cake for her last birthday because it was the first time I ever blew out her candles! It surprised me that she knew what to do when we sang to her.

June was thrilled, as you can tell from the photos below, to open her presents from her friends. She received surprise toys, a new bathing suit and towels for swimming, a new donut purse, and more.

You can watch the full video of June’s Fourth of Mermaid Party birthday here. It’s good, because we saw how she blows out the candles on the video, and the girl did “gymnastics” at the end. I will cherish the video I got from this party for years to come, I’m sure!
