A Letter From Mom To Her Daughter – As parents watch their young children grow, adulthood can be surprising. What happened to the once bright-eyed, smiling, energetic child? And what are parents to do about the inevitable changes happening before their eyes?
For Nicole Papik, a 37-year veteran and strong mother of three in Northern California, her daughter Kara’s teenage journey hit home.
A Letter From Mom To Her Daughter
One day, Poppic has had enough. As always, her young children, Alex, then 10, and Sammi, then 4, were ready to go before Cara even got out of bed. Not just as long as the problem exists; Kara still isn’t ready to apologize or listen.

Then, his mother had a brilliant idea that was sure to get her son’s attention—a special note to his teachers that would have teenage parents reading it, laughing, and even crying.
What caught the attention of Cara’s teachers and guardians was that the 14-year-old seemed completely spiteful about the way she made everyone late. Poppick gives her a “lesson”, she told Parents Today: “‘You need to start thinking about other people, Cara. You’re not the only one in this family, bring your little brother and sister,'” he said.
But Mom’s words were drowned out by the sounds of Kara’s favorite band, Panic! At the disco, playing full blast on your headphones. According to Papik, her daughter “looked out the window, she completely ignored me.” You are right. Papik recalled: “I reached over and took her phone off her leg, opened her cell phone and threw her phone out the car window.
What’s worse is that Kara has the heart to ask her mother for a note that doesn’t come right away. Poppick wrote a note, but not exactly what her daughter expected.

“This is what happens when you’re late because of your own bad choices and you ask me for a note to excuse your lateness,” Popik posted on Facebook.
Speaking to school staff and teachers, Poppick explained that her daughter was suffering from a condition called “teenage love,” adding that “young people in our great country are suffering and there is no known cure.”
“The symptoms are many, but on this particular morning, he suffered from an inability to remove himself from his bed and he also felt the need to talk back to his parents. “He seems to be regaining consciousness after seeing his cell phone fly out the car window. If there is another fight please Call me.”
The mother, while taking time to take her daughter to school, stopped at the office and took the excuse paper. When he read the letter, the search clerk “smiled,” Poppic told TODAY.

The reaction online was not overwhelming, with friends and fellow parents of the youngsters pouring in to offer their condolences. As one social media user commented on Facebook, “As a teacher and mother, game-planning for you is well done!”
Papik insists her daughter is the best child. She said today: “Watching Cara grow and change brings so much joy to my life, but with that growth comes so much pain.” While Papik said the house shouldn’t be full of strife, he added: “By fixing it for him when he’s sober, I hope to instill respect and responsibility in him for a long time.”
As for the young man, Cara is troubled by the note and his viral stardom. She said: “I feel ashamed to do that because my teachers usually know me as a quiet and respectful student in class and I don’t want them to.” Think different.” But once you get over the feeling of having your unattractive powers out in public during the day, you can laugh about it too.
For Poppic, the viral success was an unexpected result but he was excited. “When I first shared the note, it was with the hope of making my mom friends laugh and brighten up even the most stressful mornings with a little humor,” she said.

I am amazed at what a cute and kind little guy he has become! Her smile and bubbly energy instantly lighten the mood of a room. But I also fear what this world will do to you when you walk away from my protective arms. How does a mother prepare her daughter for today’s world?
A sweet girl, strong and brave. But this world is harsh and full of dark things and horrors. I want you to remember these five things as you grow up and begin to draw closer to Me. If you can remember these things, I know you will be fine.
As you grow up, you will see that many people in this world are not kind and many are selfish. I want you to be different, love. You inherited your father’s kindness and generous heart, and I want you to embrace it! I want you to spread kindness like a great fire, as your father did throughout his life. You are his legacy, and you should be proud to be like him.
One day you decide that boys are good. You start thinking about them and hope to get married one day. Dream on, baby! But here’s the thing: I want you to remember that love is worth it when it’s real, but love isn’t like love, gifts, or other romantic movies. Love is sacrifice and hard work. Love cares more about the well-being of the other half than your own. This means that sometimes your heart will break, and that’s okay too. Broken hearts heal, and love is deep and truly precious. I want you to fall in love and work hard, but let your true self love deeply in return. Don’t stop when you find your love darling. Love is always worth the risk.
Letter To My Five Year Old Fearless Daughter
I hope I can instill deep faith in you. Our God is a loving and trustworthy God. Your life has a plan and a purpose that is more beautiful than I could ever imagine. Learn to talk to Him daily, put your trust in Him alone, and trust Him with everything. He will never leave you. And He gives you the wisdom and understanding you need to make tough choices and face difficult things in this life. When you trust in Him you will not fall.
Never, ever, ever, ever settle for second best. Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not worthy. She is smart, talented, kind, beautiful and can do anything she sets her mind to. You should chase for the best in everything and hope that it can be yours because you deserve everything that is good.
I hope I can be an example of a good fighter to you. I have fought all my life for myself and others. And I want you to be that kind of person too. If you see injustice or inequality or corruption, I want you to fight bravely and courageously. When you know someone is doing something wrong, please stand up, let the world know about it, and then do your best to deal with it. You can’t win every battle because sometimes this world favors greed over good, but that doesn’t matter. Fight anyway. Be a light and a voice and an advocate for good in this world. Fighting for what is right is always the right choice.
Baby, you are the joy of my life, and I want to teach you all these things before you face the world alone. I am so happy to love you and to be your mother. The world is better for having you, my love. Don’t forget that you are a treasure and a gift and you are called to be a light in this world.
